Paithalmala is the highest geographic area in Kannur district of Kerala. This is the one of the known adventure tourist destination in Kerala. This hill lies in the Western-ghat region.

Eravikulam National Park

Eravikulam is the first National park in Kerala. Located in Devikulam taluk of Iduki district. It was declared as wildlife sanctuary in 1975, later in 1978 declared as National Park. This park is designated as the core area of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Eravikulm is a sanctuary for endangered Nilgiri Tahr(Nilgiritragus hylocrius). The total area of Eravikulam National Park is 97 sq.Km
